A Celebration of the Life of Betty Walsh

I want to walk as a child of the light. I want to follow Jesus. God set the stars to give light to the world. The star of my life is Jesus. [Refrain] In Him there is no darkness at all. The night and the day are both alike. The Lamb is the light of the city of God. Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus. I want to see the brightness of God. I want to look at Jesus. Clear Sun of Righteousness, shine on my path, And show me the way to the Father. [Repeat Refrain] I'm looking for the coming of Christ. I want to be with Jesus. When we have run with patience the race, We shall know the joy of Jesus. [Repeat Refrain]

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, Who abide in His shadow for life, Say to the Lord: "My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!" [Refrain] And He will raise you up on eagles' wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of His hand. The snare of the fowler will never capture you, And famine will bring you no fear: Under His wings your refuge, His faithfulness your shield. [Repeat Refrain] You need not fear the terror of the night, Nor the arrow that flies by day; Though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come. [Repeat Refrain] For to His angels He's given a command To guard you in all of your ways; Upon their hands they will bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. [Repeat Refrain]

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Priest: God, the almighty Father, raised Christ his Son from the dead; with confidence we ask him to save all his people, living and dead: Reader: Please respond, "Lord, hear our prayer" to the following petitions. For N., who in baptism was given the pledge of eternal life, that he/she may now be admitted to the company of the saints. We pray to the Lord: All: Lord, hear our prayer. For our sister/brother who ate the Body of Christ, the Bread of Life, that she/he may be raised up on the last day. We pray to the Lord: All: Lord, hear our prayer. For our deceased relatives and friends and for all who have helped us, that they may have the reward of their goodness. We pray to the Lord: All: Lord, hear our prayer. For those who have fallen asleep in the hope of rising again, that they may see God face to face. We pray to the Lord: All: Lord, hear our prayer. For the family and friends of our brother/sister N., that they may be consoled in their grief by the Lord, who wept at the death of his friend Lazarus. We pray to the Lord: All: Lord, hear our prayer. For all of us assembled here to worship in faith, that we may be gathered together again in God's kingdom. We pray to the Lord: All: Lord, hear our prayer.

While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the synagogue leader's house to say, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the teacher any further?" But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the synagogue leader, "Do not be afraid; only believe." He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. When they came to the synagogue leader's house, he saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. When he had entered, he said to them, "Why do you make a commotion and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him. Then he put them all outside and took the child's father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was. Taking her by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha koum," which means, "Little girl, get up!" And immediately the girl stood up and began to walk about (she was twelve years of age). At this they were overcome with amazement. He strictly ordered them that no one should know this and told them to give her something to eat.

[Intro] Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and Blest is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of death. Amen. [Refrain] Gentle woman, quiet light, morning star, so strong and bright, Gentle Mother, peaceful dove, teach us wisdom; teach us love. You were chosen by the Father; You were chosen for the Son. You were chosen from all women and for woman, shining one. [Repeat Refrain] Blessed are you among women, Blest in turn all women, too. Blessed they with peaceful spirits; Blessed they with gentle hearts. [Repeat Refrain]

Lord, You have come to the seashore, Looking neither for wealthy nor wise ones; You only asked me to follow humbly. [Refrain] O Lord, with Your eyes You have searched me, Kindly smiling, have spoken my name. Now my boat's left on the shoreline behind me; By Your side I will seek other seas. You know so well my possessions; My boat carries no gold and no weapons, But nets and fishes—my daily labor. [Repeat Refrain] You need my hands, full of caring, Through my labors to give others rest, And constant love that keeps on loving. [Repeat Refrain] Lord, as I drift on the waters, Be the resting place of my restless heart, My life's companion, my friend and refuge. [Repeat Refrain]

I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go And help us to be wise, in times when we don't know Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace To a place where we'll be safe.
